Year 1, Term 2, Week 8: counting down to home time!
Thankfully, this week has been a little bit less hectic than most. After Monday, I only had two problem sheets to do for the rest of the week (due in for Friday), so I was able to spread that work out over a few days. Which meant I had more time for more interesting things!
Unfortunately on Monday night I didn’t sleep at all, which kind of took the enjoyment out of the relaxed-work-week. However, on Tuesday my schedule for the day was a single lecture at 9am, which meant having a lazy morning, always good. As I said in last week’s post, I was able to get my practicals finished in Week 7, so no practicals for me this week. That is a very good thing.
Jess came over from London to visit Charlotte for a few days and to see her plays – I went with her on Wednesday. This term’s productions were Robin Hood and Indiana Jones and the Pantomime Horse. They were extremely entertaining, to say the least! I thoroughly enjoyed them, and it’s always nice to know that there’s something to look forward to in Week 8 each term!
Keble Guest Night was on Thursday, which basically means inviting two friends to come to have an awesome 4-course dinner in Keble. Jess came, as did James from St Catz, and they both seemed to really enjoy it. Well, it is a Harry Potter-esque hall, a fact which has been appreciated by everyone.
Thankfully my train ride on Saturday was at 1.30pm, so I was able to faff about a bit before I left Oxford. Including Saturday brunch at Keble, where I asked for a huge amount, then realised that each person could only have 5 things on their plate, oops. Also, Charlotte happened to be on the same train as me, so I was able to spend another hour with her before heading to the airport. Although, we did have to share our train table with a guy who lost his stylus for his phone, and another guy with a maths tie (yay!) who was playing World of Warcraft on his laptop (don’t ask me how he was getting an internet connection on the train, I have no idea). Also, this term I paid only a small amount for excess baggage, and was well in time for my flight. Let’s just say that’s much less stressful than the Christmas trip!
