Year 1, Term 1, Week 5: Introducting the list of death

I’ve decided to make up a list, called the List of Death, which details all the problem sheets I have to do for the following week. While I have already thankfully thrown out the one for work due for Week 6, here is the one for Week 7.

Not fun in the slightest. Especially when each of them takes >3 hours to do.

Work has been dominating this week, managed to get out one or two nights this week which is always good. Also played a table football match where I was part of a team representing Keble against Merton – due to the extensive vetting imposed by the Keble captain, and my multiple-year long run of not playing table football, we lost all the matches… but it’s all good fun!

Kim and Catherine were over for the weekend, was awesome (in a box) seeing them. Some pictures are up on Kim’s Facebook page if you have access to that. David and I introduced them to such delights as the Wakamama Noodle Bar, G&D’s ice cream, Keble formal hall and Charles the turtle. They both really enjoyed it (despite the 5-hour long bus journey experienced by Kim… sorry Kim…), definitely want to go and visit people at their own universities sometime. Maybe when they’ve already started and I haven’t I could go on a UK tour? We shall see…

Today being Wednesday of Week 6, my next problem sheet is due for Friday. I suppose that means I have a bit of free time, since I need the lecture tomorrow morning in order to be able to do the problem sheet in the first place. Robin (linear algebra tutor) said to “do as much as you can”, which conveniently means that you shouldn’t feel guilty about missing out questions.

Oh, and as a complement to a previous post, I have found that buying two 2 litre bottles of Coke / Diet Coke / Coke Zero / whatever is much better value for money than the 6-can or even the 10-can-offer-thing. So I’ve bought that instead. Yayyyy.
